Communication Practices
When I am on leave or off work, I may not see or respond to your texts until the next working day but please feel free to text me your questions first. I thank you for respecting my personal time and likewise, you may respond to me in your own time too.
Scheduling Practices
Around December-January each year, I will discuss with you to come up with a suitable weekly timeslot. In setting a regular schedule, we are both agreeing to reserve this timeslot for your child's lesson with me.Â
There will be no lessons on public holidays, except for final year students on request.
Lessons can be cancelled or rescheduled at least 1 week in advance on this system when needed, except for sudden illnesses and emergencies. However, I humbly request that you set and maintain boundaries with other tutors/enrichment teachers should they repeatedly encroach on your child's protected time with me.
Cancellations
In good faith, I assume that all last minute cancellations are due to valid, unavoidable reasons (e.g. medical emergency). As such, I would greatly appreciate a short explanation when you cancel.
For last-minute cancellations at your place, please drop me a personal text as soon as possible out of courtesy - especially if it happens on the day itself. If I have already begun my trip down, a 1-hour fee for my time may be charged.
For last-minute cancellations at High Street Centre, no fee will be charged.
Rescheduling your lesson
At the start of each year, I will ask for a backup timeslot in the event of a public holiday or unforeseen circumstances (e.g. illness). As such, please ensure that you are able to set this time aside without affecting the schedule of any tutors or lessons your child may have.
I do not accept requests from other parents/students to take your time slot unless you have already cancelled class that week and vice versa. Hence, rest assured that I have prioritised your child's booking in your default weekly timeslot.
When in doubt, feel free to drop me a text to ask! As long as we navigate situations with mutual respect and kindness, I believe that great communication can solve most logistical issues.
